Godrej unveils AI-powered washing machine campaign tackling detergent residue

Mumbai: The Appliances Business of Godrej Enterprises Group has unveiled a new video campaign for its Front Load Washing Machines featuring AI Powered Turbidity Sensing Technology.

The campaign spotlights a common yet overlooked issue—detergent residue left behind by regular washing machines, which can dull fabric colors, weaken clothes over time, and even cause skin irritation. To solve this, Godrej has introduced its AI-powered turbidity sensing technology that detects detergent residue in water and rinses out up to 50%* more harsh detergent from clothes, ensuring better care for fabrics and skin.

The digital video campaign (DVC), launched with three quirky 20-second films, uses humor and exaggerated visuals to bring the problem of unseen detergent residue alive. In each film, detergent foam appears unexpectedly when clothes come in contact with water—dramatizing the issue and highlighting how Godrej’s AI-powered washing machines deliver a smarter, cleaner wash.

Speaking about the launch, Swati Rathi, Head of Marketing at Appliances Business of Godrej Enterprises Group, said, “At Godrej, we are constantly innovating to make everyday life better for our consumers. We do this by paying close attention to their unsaid needs. Detergent residue on laundered clothes is a real but often overlooked problem given its unseen nature. It can only be felt by consumers in the changed fabric texture, colour fading and only sometimes as streaks on clothes. The AI powered turbidity sensing technology in our new washing machines minimizes this concern and delivers upto 50% better detergent removal yielding better fabric care and is also better for our skin. The video campaign highlights the detergent residue problem through light-hearted exaggeration building the context for the machine’s strong functional benefit.”

The campaign, conceptualised and executed by Creativeland Asia, has been rolled out across digital video platforms. Anu Joseph, Co-founder & Creative Vice-Chairman, Creativeland Asia, added, “We took an invisible problem – residual detergent on clothes and dramatized it until it couldn’t be ignored. From brief to execution, it was a truly exciting project.”
