New Delhi: YouTube has announced the Foundry Class of 2025, spotlighting Pragati Nagpal, a Gen Z singer-songwriter who embodies the new wave of Indian pop music. Selected from among millions of emerging voices across Asia, Pragati is one of only three Indian artists chosen this year for her breakthrough journey, distinctive sound, and ability to connect with massive audiences.
The YouTube Foundry program, the platform’s flagship global artist development initiative, identifies and nurtures breakthrough talent through creative funding, mentorship, and promotional visibility. The program has been instrumental in shaping several globally recognized artists by helping them experiment, expand their reach, and build sustainable careers.
Pragati’s musical journey began during the lockdown, when she started uploading acoustic covers from her home. In just a few years, she transitioned from an online performer to a recognized pop artist—releasing original music, collaborating with Armaan Malik on “Pehla Nasha 2.0,” representing India at the Cannes Film Festival, and touring nationwide with Himesh Reshammiya. Her ability to combine emotional storytelling with relatable songwriting has cemented her place among India’s most promising young voices.
“YouTube has been such a big part of where it all started for me,” said Pragati. “It’s where I learned, grew, and met people who believed in my music. Being part of Foundry 2025 feels like a full-circle moment, and a new start at the same time.”
Joining Pragati in this year’s India cohort are Chaar Diwaari (Garv Taneja), a Delhi-based hip-hop artist known for his experimental sound, and Tanishka Bahl, an indie-pop musician blending contemporary pop with Indian influences. Together, they represent the creativity, diversity, and innovation shaping India’s dynamic music landscape.
With this milestone, Pragati Nagpal continues to transform her digital beginnings into a thriving real-world career—reflecting the ambition, artistry, and authenticity that define a new generation of Indian musicians.
