Mumbai: Tata Play has rolled out sweeping price reductions across its curated channel bouquets, marking one of its most extensive tariff resets in recent years. The revised rates—effective December 1, 2025—span Hindi, English and key regional markets, with cuts varying from about 7% to as high as 60%.
A review of the updated rate card indicates that most mass entertainment and regional value packs sit in the 20–35% reduction band, signalling a broad repricing strategy across genres.
Sharp Corrections in Hindi Packs
Hindi entertainment and news categories have undergone some of the deepest revisions. The Hindi TV Shows HD bouquet will now be available at ₹71, down from ₹111—a reduction of roughly 36%. The SD variant has been cut by nearly 34%, moving from ₹98 to ₹65. Entry-level Hindi News sees the steepest adjustment, dropping from ₹2.50 to ₹1 per month.
English Bouquets Get Cheaper Too
English packs have also been reset. English Combo falls from ₹80 to ₹70, while English Movies HD declines about 15% to ₹92. English TV Shows is revised from ₹16 to ₹12 (a 25% drop), and the English Knowledge & Lifestyle pack sees a modest correction of around 8%, now priced at ₹24.
Big Reductions in Bangla Market
The Bangla segment features some of the biggest value revisions. Bangla Hindi Basic now costs ₹176 instead of ₹245 (down ~28%), while Bangla Hindi Dhamaal drops from ₹219 to ₹160 (~27%). The Bangla TV Shows pack sees one of the steepest cuts—₹50 to ₹28 (44%)—and Bangla Regional declines about 35% to ₹54.
Southern Markets See Broad Repricing
Across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam offerings, most packs have been revised downward. Tamil TV Shows HD moves from ₹150 to ₹130, and the SD version falls from ₹138 to ₹117.
Telugu Basic is now priced at ₹208 (down from ₹245.60), while Telugu Prime drops sharply from ₹225.60 to ₹175.
Kannada Basic shifts to ₹164 from ₹201.60, and Kannada TV Shows declines from ₹105 to ₹85.
In Kerala, Malayalam TV Shows HD now costs ₹65, down from ₹80, and the SD variant slides from ₹72 to ₹60.
Sports & Kids Packs Trimmed Modestly
Premium sports-kids combinations see lighter trims. Malayalam Sports Kids English HD is revised from ₹471.60 to ₹439 (around 7% lower), while Tamil Thalaiva Sports Kids HD falls from ₹445 to ₹407 (approx. 9%).
Tata Play executives described the overhaul as part of a periodic strategic recalibration rather than a move driven by short-term market considerations.
The new tariffs will apply only to subscribers who migrate to, or newly opt for, the updated “New” packs from December 1. Existing rates will continue until November 30.
