JioHotstar sets the stage for next-gen reality TV with the launch of The 50

Mumbai: JioHotstar has announced The 50, a groundbreaking reality entertainment format produced by Banijay Asia, signalling the platform’s next major leap in disruptive, high-intensity content.

The big reveal took place during the Bigg Boss 19 Grand Finale, where a symbolic moment — the Tiger passing the baton to the Lion — marked the rise of a new ruler, a new world, and the beginning of a new era in Indian reality television.

The 50 brings together 50 players inside a massive, unpredictable Mahal, where the rules are simple: there are no rules. In this high-stakes universe, strategy, alliances, mind games, chaos and betrayals collide — with every twist landing 50 times harder.

Billed as a reality experience “jaisa na kabhi kisi ne socha, na kabhi kisi ne dekha,” the show is designed to redefine how India watches and engages with reality entertainment. From gameplay to viewer involvement, “khelne walo ke liye bhi aur dekhne walo ke liye bhi, poori baazi palatne wali hai.”
