Mumbai: WAVES OTT, Prasar Bharati’s rapidly expanding digital entertainment platform, has announced a strategic partnership with the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) to integrate its content library into Indian Railways’ RailOne app — the official all-in-one passenger services platform used by millions of travellers daily.
This collaboration will allow passengers across the country to seamlessly access a curated selection of WAVES OTT’s diverse content portfolio while on the move. RailOne, which currently supports ticketing, live train status, journey services, and multiple digital utilities, will now offer travellers entertainment options such as Live TV channels, Akashvani radio stations, movies, documentaries, short films, devotional content, and archival programming across more than 15 Indian languages.
With nearly 2.3 crore passengers travelling each day, the integration marks a major expansion in WAVES OTT’s nationwide reach and strengthens its positioning as a truly accessible public-service digital platform.
A joint nationwide promotional campaign is planned to highlight the collaboration, aimed at enriching the travel experience with engaging infotainment services.
Speaking on the partnership, Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO, Prasar Bharati, said, “This integration with RailOne is a significant milestone for WAVES OTT. RailOne connects millions of passengers daily, and bringing WAVES content to this platform will greatly enhance their digital experience during travel.”
The initiative reinforces Prasar Bharati’s commitment to making high-quality content available to audiences anytime and anywhere, extending now to India’s vast and diverse rail-travelling population.
