Mumbai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) and JioStar have jointly clarified that their media rights agreement for India remains fully operational, countering a series of recent media reports suggesting uncertainty around the partnership.
In a joint statement, both organisations said the speculation “does not reflect the position of either party,” reiterating that the existing contract continues unchanged and JioStar remains the ICC’s official media rights partner in India. They emphasised that any suggestion of JioStar withdrawing from the arrangement is incorrect.
According to the statement, JioStar is “fully committed to honouring its contractual obligations in letter and spirit,” with both entities aligned on ensuring seamless, high-quality coverage of all upcoming ICC tournaments. This includes the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, one of the most anticipated events in the cricketing calendar.
The ICC and JioStar noted that preparations for forthcoming global events are progressing as planned, with no disruption expected for viewers, advertisers or industry stakeholders. They also underscored that them long-standing partnership continues to involve regular engagement on operational,m commercial and strategic fronts, centred on expanding the sport’s reach and impact.m
With this clarification, both organisations aim to put an end to speculation and reaffirm their joint commitment to delivering uninterrupted cricketing coverage to millions of fans across India.
