Mumbai: Adobe has released the findings of its inaugural Creators’ Toolkit Report, revealing overwhelming confidence among Indian creators in the impact of creative generative AI on the rapidly expanding creator economy. According to the study, 97% of Indian creators believe generative AI is positively influencing the creator ecosystem, underscoring its transition from an experimental tool to a core component of creative workflows.

The global survey, conducted in partnership with The Harris Poll, gathered insights from over 16,000 creators across eight markets including India, the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Japan, South Korea and Australia. The report explores how creators are adopting creative generative AI and mobile tools, and what they expect from the next wave of innovation, including agentic AI.

India, one of the world’s fastest-growing creator markets, is seeing particularly strong adoption. The report finds that 95% of Indian creators say creative generative AI has helped accelerate the growth of their business, personal brand or follower base, while 85% say it enables them to create content they would not have been able to produce otherwise. With 99% of Indian creators now actively using creative generative AI, the technology is deeply embedded across the content lifecycle.

Editing, upscaling and enhancement emerged as the most common use cases, cited by 77% of creators, followed by generating new assets such as images and videos (75%) and ideation and brainstorming (58%). Reflecting a pragmatic approach, 89% of creators reported using more than one generative AI tool in the past three months to improve output quality and match specific tools to different creative needs.

While enthusiasm remains high, concerns around trust and transparency persist. The report notes that 78% of Indian creators are worried about their content being used to train AI models without permission. As a result, creators are actively researching tools before adoption, with 74% relying on personal research, 68% tracking social media trends, and 54% seeking recommendations from fellow creators. High costs, unreliable output quality and lack of clarity around training data remain key barriers to wider adoption.

Looking ahead, agentic AI is generating strong interest. The study finds that 90% of Indian creators are optimistic or excited about AI systems that can proactively assist with multi-step tasks. Notably, 96% say they would consider using AI that learns their creative style, provided creative control remains firmly with the human creator. Automating repetitive tasks, brainstorming ideas and surfacing performance insights were identified as the most desirable applications.

The report also highlights the growing centrality of mobile devices in content creation. Around 81% of Indian creators say they frequently create content on mobile today, and 89% expect to produce even more mobile-first content over the next year as tools become more powerful and intuitive.

Adobe’s inaugural Creators’ Toolkit Report signals a clear shift in how Indian creators view technology—not just as a productivity enhancer, but as a strategic enabler of growth, scale and creative expression in the evolving creator economy.
