Mumbai: Hindi GEC COLORS has expanded its weekday prime-time fiction slate with the launch of Dr. Aarambhi, a setback-to-comeback drama centred on reclaiming identity, ambition, and self-worth. The show premieres tonight and will air Monday to Friday at 8:00 pm on COLORS and JioHotstar.
Positioned as a socially resonant narrative, Dr. Aarambhi explores how deeply ingrained expectations around sacrifice and self-erasure continue to shape women’s lives—particularly within marriage and family structures. The show follows the journey of Dr. Aarambhi Balbir Chaudhary, a former gold medallist and AIPMT topper whose medical career is cut short as she is moulded into the roles of the “ideal” daughter-in-law, mother, and trophy wife, while her husband rises within a powerful medical legacy.
When a life-altering setback forces Aarambhi to confront the cost of prolonged self-neglect, she chooses to rebuild—professionally and personally. Her return to medicine becomes both an act of survival and resistance, anchored by the theme: “Bahut hua setback, ab hoga comeback.”
The show stars Aishwarya Khare as Dr. Aarambhi, Aditya Redij as Dr. Vishwas, and Anjuum Faakih as Dr. Avantika.
Commenting on her role, Khare said Aarambhi represents women conditioned to silence their ambitions, with her transformation driven by self-realisation rather than revenge. Redij described Vishwas as a quietly manipulative character whose authority reflects how power often hides behind respectability. Faakih noted that Avantika’s arc underscores how ambition and emotional vulnerability can coexist, even in strong, independent women.
With Dr. Aarambhi, COLORS continues to lean into issue-led storytelling that blends emotional drama with contemporary gender discourse—aiming to engage viewers seeking both relatability and resilience-driven narratives in prime time.
