VIDA and KKR launch ‘6 for 6’ Campaign to drive EV charging infrastructure expansion

New Delhi: VIDA, powered by Hero MotoCorp, has partnered with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to launch the ‘6 for 6’ campaign, a purpose-led initiative that links on-field cricketing action with the expansion of India’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

As the Title Partner of KKR, VIDA will install a 6kW fast charger for every six hit by the team during the 2026 T20 season. The initiative aims to accelerate EV adoption by strengthening charging accessibility, aligning with VIDA’s mission to democratise electric mobility across the country.

The campaign builds on VIDA’s growing charging ecosystem, which currently includes over 5,300 fast-charging points across 430 cities, positioning it among India’s largest fast-charging networks.

Commenting on the initiative, Kausalya Nandakumar, Chief Business Officer, Emerging Mobility Business Unit, Hero MotoCorp, said, “Cricket has an incredible ability to unite and inspire millions across the country. With the ‘6 for 6’ campaign, we are turning every big hit on the field into a step towards a cleaner and a more accessible mobility future. With our growing network of fast chargers and our innovative removable battery technology, VIDA is committed to building an ecosystem that accelerates the adoption of electric mobility across the country, enabling more people to experience the thrill of new-age mobility.”

Venky Mysore, Chief Executive Officer, Kolkata Knight Riders, said, “The ‘6 for 6’ campaign exemplifies the potential of sport as a platform for meaningful, real-world impact. At KKR, we are committed to ensuring that our on-field moments carry significance beyond the cricket field as well. By linking every six to the expansion of EV charging infrastructure, this partnership with VIDA transforms fan excitement into tangible progress and reflects our shared commitment to innovation and sustainability for the future.”

As part of the campaign, VIDA has also introduced co-branded fast chargers in KKR’s signature colours at prominent locations, including a flagship installation unveiled by KKR players, symbolising the intersection of sport, sustainability and future mobility.

VIDA’s fast-charging network is designed for safety, reliability and ease of use, capable of charging its electric scooters from 0 to 80 percent in approximately one hour. The infrastructure extends beyond urban centres, with chargers strategically deployed along key highways to support longer EV journeys.

Complementing this ecosystem, VIDA’s removable battery technology allows users to charge scooters using standard 5A household plug points, adding flexibility for everyday use.

By linking every six on the cricket field to tangible infrastructure growth, the campaign transforms fan engagement into measurable progress, reinforcing the role of sport in advancing India’s clean mobility ambitions.
