Bengaluru: Swiggy has announced the appointment of Srikar Adavi as Vice President of Ads Monetisation at Swiggy Instamart, strengthening its senior leadership team as the company accelerates the growth of its advertising business.
The company shared the announcement through its official LinkedIn handle, stating that Adavi will lead Swiggy Instamart’s advertising monetisation strategy at a time when quick commerce is rapidly emerging as a key touchpoint connecting brands with high-intent shoppers in real time.
An alumnus of IIM Calcutta, Adavi brings over 18 years of experience spanning revenue growth, product strategy, and advertising. He joins Swiggy after a nine-year stint at Amazon, where he played a pivotal role in scaling the company’s seller advertising business into one of its major retail media engines.
Prior to Amazon, Adavi held leadership positions at Motorola, Vodafone, and Britannia, building extensive expertise across consumer technology, telecommunications, and FMCG sectors.
At Swiggy Instamart, Adavi will spearhead ad technology innovation, scale advertising monetisation frameworks, and work closely with brands to create deeper, data-driven consumer engagement opportunities across the platform.
Announcing the appointment on LinkedIn, Swiggy said, “Srikar Adavi joins our senior leadership team to steer our advertising business forward just as quick commerce establishes itself as the ultimate bridge between beloved brands and high-intent shoppers at the exact moment it matters most.”
The company further highlighted Adavi’s track record of building high-growth advertising businesses and added, “At Swiggy, he will lead our ad tech innovations, scale monetisation frameworks, and help brands unlock deep, real-time engagement across the Instamart platform.”
The appointment comes as retail media continues to gain momentum in India, with quick commerce platforms increasingly evolving beyond commerce into high-impact advertising ecosystems. As brands seek measurable, intent-driven consumer engagement, Swiggy Instamart is expanding its advertising capabilities to capitalise on the growing retail media opportunity.
