Mumbai: HDFC Life Insurance Company Limited has announced the re-appointment of Vibha Padalkar as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for a further period of five years, effective September 12, 2026.
The decision was approved by the company’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on April 21, 2026, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. The re-appointment remains subject to the approval of shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting, as well as the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
The company confirmed that Padalkar has not been debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any order passed by SEBI or any other regulatory authority.
Padalkar currently serves as the Managing Director and CEO of HDFC Life and has been associated with the company since 2008. Over the years, she has held multiple leadership roles and has been instrumental in strengthening the company’s financial framework. She also played a key role in the successful listing of HDFC Life in 2017 and led the company through the first merger and acquisition transaction in the Indian life insurance sector.
Under her leadership, the company has demonstrated consistent performance across business cycles, driven by a focused strategy, disciplined execution, and emphasis on sustainable growth. She has also been actively involved in industry initiatives and was a member of the Executive Committee of the Life Insurance Council.
A member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Padalkar brings deep financial expertise and governance experience to her role. Over the course of her career, she has received multiple recognitions, including being named among the most powerful women in business by leading industry publications and receiving top honours at corporate excellence awards.
The Board meeting commenced at 7:20 p.m. IST and concluded at 7:40 p.m. IST.
