Mumbai: Spinny has unveiled a digital film rooted in nostalgia and local culture, celebrating cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on his 53rd birthday. Set against the iconic backdrop of Ashok Vada Pav, the film captures an authentic slice of Mumbai life, blending emotion, memory, and community.
Created as a tribute to Tendulkar’s early years in the city, the film centres around Ashok Vada Pav near Kirti College — a location closely associated with the cricketer’s formative days. Rather than opting for a grand celebratory narrative, Spinny’s storytelling leans into simplicity, portraying a spontaneous gathering of fans, conversations, and shared experiences that reflect the spirit of Mumbai.
At the heart of the film is a setting that organically transforms into a vibrant hub of nostalgia. With hot vada pavs, smiling faces, and fans coming together, the moment feels less like a planned activation and more like a collective memory unfolding in real time. Tendulkar’s presence is subtly woven into the narrative, emphasising emotional connection over spectacle.
The campaign, executed in collaboration with TENxYOU, introduced interactive elements such as light challenges, rewards, and surprise giveaways. Spinny customers were also offered exclusive vouchers and merchandise, including shoes worth ₹3,500, enhancing engagement and participation.
Fans present at the location described the experience as organic and deeply personal, reinforcing the campaign’s intent to create meaningful, shared moments rather than conventional brand-led celebrations.
“Buying my car from Spinny already felt special. But getting it on Master’s birthday made it even better. And then I got a TENxYOU shoe, it honestly felt like the day just smiled back at me.”
“Vada pav, Sachin’s birthday, and everyone just happy together, it felt like peak Mumbai in the best way.”
