Mumbai: Razorpay has appointed Apuarv Sethi as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), elevating him from his previous role as Senior Vice President – Marketing. In his expanded capacity, Sethi will lead the company’s marketing vision and SME Business Growth strategy across India and Southeast Asia (SEA).
As CMO, Sethi’s mandate spans the company’s end-to-end go-to-market (GTM) strategy, ecosystem initiatives, revenue acceleration, and next-generation growth frameworks across geographies and product lines — with artificial intelligence at the core of his approach.
Sethi joined Razorpay in April 2021 as Vice President of Marketing and has since played a defining role in shaping the company’s brand and SME strategy. In his most recent position, he led brand strategy, product marketing, performance marketing, communications, and customer engagement, with a strong focus on driving growth among small and medium enterprises.
Sethi brings nearly two decades of cross-industry experience in brand building, growth strategy, monetisation, and loyalty across fintech, SaaS, eCommerce, and education. Before Razorpay, he held senior leadership roles at Flipkart, Mindtree, and Manipal Global Education Services.

Rahul Kothari, COO, Razorpay, said, “Apuarv has been instrumental in shaping Razorpay’s brand journey over the years. His deep understanding of customer behaviour, paired with a strategic and creative vision, has helped us build a brand that truly resonates with small businesses and entrepreneurs across the country. As we push toward global expansion, strong brand leadership becomes more critical than ever. Apuarv’s ability to connect storytelling with business impact makes him the ideal leader to drive our marketing vision forward. We look forward to seeing Razorpay forge even deeper, more meaningful customer connections under his leadership.”

Apuarv Sethi, Chief Marketing Officer, Razorpay, added, “The future of marketing will not be shaped by AI alone, nor by human instinct in isolation — but by the powerful convergence of both. At Razorpay, we have always believed that the most meaningful innovation is one that solves real problems for businesses. As we move deeper into an AI-native world, the opportunity before us is to reimagine how brands connect, build trust, and create lasting value at scale — while keeping human creativity and empathy at the heart of everything we do. For India’s small businesses, this is a transformative moment. My focus will be on crafting marketing that is not just smarter and more efficient, but deeply intuitive and purposeful — driving meaningful SME brand growth and helping India’s most ambitious entrepreneurs unlock their next phase of scale and confidence.”
