Mumbai: Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited has launched a new digital video campaign (DVC) for its advanced heat-reflective coating, Nerolac Perma NoHeat. Created and produced by creative and content agency BUZZINga, the campaign leverages thermal imaging technology to visually demonstrate the product’s ability to reduce surface temperatures by up to 15°C under real-world conditions.
The campaign takes a unique approach by using thermal imaging to make the product’s heat-reflective properties instantly visible. Shot in Rajasthan, the film captures treated and untreated surfaces through a thermal vision camera, highlighting the stark temperature differences in vivid heat-spectrum colours. The visual experiment transforms an otherwise invisible performance benefit into a compelling and easily understandable consumer proof point.
By placing thermal imaging technology at the heart of the narrative, the campaign moves away from conventional product demonstrations and focuses on real-time evidence. The initiative marks a notable innovation in paint category communication, helping consumers see the impact of heat-reflective coatings in a direct and measurable manner.
Ramkrishna Naik, Chief Marketing Officer, Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited said, “With Nerolac Perma NoHeat, we have always known that the product’s strongest advocate is its own performance. Our objective with this campaign was to close the gap between what we claim and what the consumer can independently verify. It was not built on storytelling alone, but on evidence. We believe that in a market where trust and performance accountability are becoming central to purchase decisions, this approach sets a new benchmark for how paint brands can communicate product efficacy.”
Commenting on the campaign, Kritika Beri, Co-Founder, BUZZINga added, “The brief was simple: help consumers understand that a paint can actually help reduce heat. We felt the answer wasn’t in explaining the science better, but in making it visible. That thinking led us to conceive and execute a film built around thermal imaging technology and a real-world experiment. At BUZZINga, we’re always looking for new ways to make brand stories more tangible, and this approach allowed us to turn an invisible benefit into something consumers could instantly see and understand. In doing so, we helped create what we believe is a first-of-its-kind use of thermal imaging in the Indian paint category to showcase actual product performance.”
Nerolac Perma NoHeat is designed for exterior walls, terraces and rooftop surfaces, offering a passive cooling solution that requires no electricity or ongoing maintenance. The coating is engineered specifically for Indian climatic conditions and incorporates specialised pigments that reflect solar radiation, thereby reducing heat absorption and lowering surface temperatures.
With rising temperatures and growing consumer interest in energy-efficient building solutions, the campaign reinforces Kansai Nerolac Paints’ focus on innovation-led products that address practical everyday challenges while delivering measurable performance benefits.
