Mumbai: Metro Brands Ltd. has named retail industry veteran Atul Sinha as President – Core Business, strengthening its leadership team as the company looks to accelerate growth across its flagship brands, Metro and Mochi.
In his new role, Sinha will oversee the company’s core brands portfolio, with a mandate to drive business expansion, deepen consumer engagement, and enhance brand relevance across key markets.
The appointment brings to Metro Brands a seasoned executive with extensive experience spanning retail, consumer goods, brand management, merchandising, and business operations. Prior to joining Metro Brands, Sinha spent 11 years at CaratLane, where he held multiple leadership positions and most recently served as Chief Operating Officer.
At CaratLane, he was responsible for the company’s profit and loss management and led functions including marketing, merchandising, category management, sales, and sales support. He also oversaw the jewellery retailer’s international business operations, contributing to its growth and market expansion.
Over the course of his career, Sinha has built a reputation for scaling consumer-focused businesses, leading high-performance teams, and driving growth across diverse retail categories.
Announcing the appointment, Metro Brands said the company looks forward to leveraging Sinha’s leadership experience and industry expertise as it continues to strengthen its brand portfolio and pursue new growth opportunities.
The move comes at a time when India’s footwear and fashion retail sector is witnessing increasing competition, evolving consumer preferences, and a growing emphasis on omnichannel engagement. Industry observers believe Sinha’s experience in consumer-facing businesses and brand-led growth strategies could play an important role in Metro Brands’ next phase of expansion.
As President – Core Business, he is expected to focus on enhancing customer connections, strengthening brand positioning, and unlocking new avenues of growth for Metro Brands’ flagship labels.
