Bengaluru: Instamart, India’s pioneering quick commerce platform, has appointed Gautam Swaroop as its Chief Business Officer (CBO), strengthening its leadership team as the company looks to accelerate growth across categories and deepen brand partnerships.
In his new role, Swaroop will oversee Instamart’s commercial operations, including customer-centric growth initiatives, category management, and brand relationships and expansion.
A seasoned business leader with more than two decades of experience, Swaroop has worked across consulting, pharmaceuticals, and technology sectors. He started his career at McKinsey & Company, where he spent a decade driving strategy and operations transformation projects. He later joined Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, helping scale its emerging markets business from $37 million to $190 million in revenue.
Prior to joining Instamart, Swaroop served as CEO of OYO’s international business, where he led operations across the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, China, and Latin America, steering the portfolio to profitability.

The appointment comes as part of a broader effort by Instamart to strengthen its leadership bench amid growing competition in India’s quick commerce sector. The company has also recently onboarded Srikar Adavi as Vice President, Ad Monetization, and Hardeep Kaur as Associate Vice President, Category (FMCG), among others.
The leadership additions are expected to support Instamart’s next phase of expansion as it continues to broaden its assortment, enhance customer experiences, and strengthen partnerships with brands across categories.
