Bengaluru: Digital payments and financial services platform PhonePe has appointed Srijon Biswas as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), strengthening its technology leadership as the company continues to expand its digital ecosystem and scale its engineering capabilities.
In his new role, Biswas will lead PhonePe’s engineering organisation and continue reporting to Co-founder Rahul Chari. A long-time leader within the company, Biswas has played a key role in PhonePe’s technology journey, overseeing engineering across multiple teams and helping build one of India’s largest engineering organisations as the platform scaled to serve hundreds of millions of users.

Announcing the appointment, Rahul Chari, Co-founder, PhonePe, said, “As PhonePe continues to expand and grow, strengthening our technology leadership is a natural step. The appointment comes as PhonePe continues to invest in technology, engineering talent and platform capabilities to support its expanding portfolio of digital financial services and consumer businesses.
As part of a broader leadership restructuring, Co-founder Rahul Chari will take on the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO). In addition to overseeing the company’s technology and product functions, Chari will continue to lead Trust & Safety, Data Sciences & Analytics, and Customer Experience, while driving other strategic initiatives across the PhonePe Group.
The leadership changes reflect PhonePe’s continued focus on strengthening its technology foundation as it scales its operations and broadens its suite of digital offerings.
