Mumbai: EssenceMediacom has successfully retained Uber’s media account across the Asia Pacific region, extending a partnership that has been in place since 2017.
The renewed mandate spans Australia and New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, with the account continuing to be led from Australia by Client Managing Partner Maddison Keogh.
The retention follows Uber’s appointment of Ally Doubé as Asia Pacific Marketing Director earlier this year, as the ride-hailing and mobility platform enters its next phase of growth across the region.
Under the renewed partnership, EssenceMediacom will continue to develop media strategies by combining strategic planning with WPP Open’s AI, data and technology capabilities to support Uber’s business objectives across diverse APAC markets.

Commenting on the partnership, Pippa Berlocher, CEO, EssenceMediacom Australia, said, “We’re incredibly proud to continue our partnership with Uber across APAC. Working together across such diverse and fast-moving markets has shaped a strong, trusted partnership. By bringing together data, technology, creativity and human ingenuity, and by consistently showing up for each other as a connected team, we’re unlocking new opportunities to ignite what’s next for Uber.”
Lee Walsh, Global Head of Media at Uber, said EssenceMediacom’s deep understanding of the business, combined with its regional capabilities, played a key role in the agency retaining the account following the review process.
He added that the agency’s local market expertise and its vision for leveraging data, technology and artificial intelligence to accelerate Uber’s growth were important factors in the decision.
The account renewal reinforces the long-standing relationship between Uber and EssenceMediacom, with the agency continuing to oversee media responsibilities across several of the company’s key Asia Pacific markets.
