Mumbai: Ageas Federal Life Insurance has announced an expansion of leadership responsibilities for three senior executives—Debashish Duttagupta, Gaurav Dubey and Gaurav Jain—as the company sharpens its focus on strategic partnerships, digital distribution and customer-centric growth.
The appointments are aimed at strengthening the insurer’s diversified distribution architecture, deepening strategic partnerships and driving technology-led, scalable business growth across multiple channels.
As part of the leadership changes, Debashish Duttagupta has been elevated from National Head – Alternate Channels to National Head – Strategic Partner Acquisition & Growth. In his expanded role, he will lead the company’s strategic partnership acquisition and ecosystem growth agenda across banks, NBFCs, fintechs, corporate agents, affinity partners, digital platforms and institutional clients.
With over 27 years of experience spanning bancassurance, group insurance, embedded insurance, alternate distribution and ecosystem partnerships, Duttagupta has built a strong track record in creating strategic alliances, developing bespoke distribution models and driving sustainable business growth.
His new mandate will focus on strengthening the company’s partnership ecosystem, co-creating customer-centric propositions and developing technology-enabled distribution models that deliver long-term value for both partners and customers.
Prior to joining Ageas Federal Life Insurance, Duttagupta held leadership positions at IndiaFirst Life Insurance, Canara HSBC Life Insurance, Tata AIA Life Insurance and Max New York Life Insurance. He holds an MBA in Marketing from the Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, and has completed executive education programmes at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode. He is also a Claritas® Investment Certificate holder from the CFA Institute, USA.
Meanwhile, Gaurav Dubey, currently National Head – Digital Distribution, has been entrusted with an expanded portfolio that now includes Digital Distribution, Retail Broking, Insurance Marketing Firm (IMF), Regional Rural Bank (RRB) and Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) businesses.
In his enhanced role, Dubey will focus on accelerating business growth across these channels, strengthening strategic and institutional partnerships, expanding the company’s retail broking and IMF footprint, deepening engagement with Regional Rural Banks and advancing Ageas Federal’s digital-first distribution strategy.
He will also work towards building scalable, technology-enabled distribution models, enhancing customer reach, improving channel productivity and driving sustainable, profitable growth across the portfolio.
Dubey joined Ageas Federal Life Insurance from Bajaj Life Insurance, where he led the Online Business and Digital Marketing function and played a key role in building one of the company’s fastest-growing digital businesses. Earlier, he headed the Marketing function at Liberty General Insurance, where he established the company’s digital business and strengthened its digital distribution, customer acquisition and performance marketing capabilities.
With over 18 years of experience across digital insurance, distribution strategy, partnerships, sales transformation and marketing, Dubey has led several business transformation initiatives by integrating technology, data and customer insights into execution-led distribution strategies.
The company has also expanded the leadership responsibilities of Gaurav Jain, who will continue as National Head – Product Management & Product Pricing while additionally taking charge of the Distribution Strategy function.
Jain’s expanded role is designed to strengthen the integration between customer insights, product innovation, pricing excellence and distribution strategy, enabling a more unified approach to delivering value for customers and distribution partners.
With more than 25 years of experience in life insurance and financial services, Jain has built expertise across product management, pricing, distribution, digital business and strategic transformation. In his expanded mandate, he will continue to oversee Product Management and Product Pricing while working closely with business teams to enhance channel effectiveness and accelerate profitable growth.
