Chennai : M.R.Radha, the legendary name in Tamil theatre and cinema would have been greatly pleased in heaven, with the celebration to commemorate his 108th birthday.
Nadigavelin Rajapaattai was a grand event celebrated across Tamilnadu to honor the legend of Tamil theatre, Nadigavel M.R.Radha. The event organized by Puthuyugam and Radaan Media Works brought together theatre artist from various district of Tamilnadu, providing them a platform to showcase their talent. It was a competition to chose the best theatre group from across Tamilnadu and honor them as a tribute to the Master of Tamil theatre.
The competition was held in Madurai, Trichy, Salem, Coimbatore and Chennai with over 200 teams participating and showcasing their talent.
Three teams were chosen for their outstanding performance and were honored in a grand gala event held at Sir. Mutha Venkata Subba Rao auditorium, where the Winning team was awarded Rs 1 Lac, while the 1st Runner up was given Rs 75,000/- and 2nd Runner up was awarded with Rs 50,000/-.
The film & theatre fraternity turned out in large numbers which stalwart like Sarath Kumar, Radhika Sarath Kumar, Radha Ravi, Saroja Devi, M.N.Rajam, Bhagyaraj, Siva Kumar, Sivakarthikeyan, Crazy Mohan, Sripriya, K.S.Ravikumar, Parthiban, Simran, and many other film & TV celebrities attending as one large family making the event the glorious evening in honor of Nadigavel.
