Mumbai, January 24, 2024 – Almond Branding, a leading strategic branding and design agency, proudly unveils a groundbreaking collaboration with Bellator Beverages helping them introduce Papel, India’s first plastic-free alkaline water in a 100% recyclable, 68% renewable, and 75% paper-based carton bottle. The brand Papel, deriving its name from the Spanish word for paper, champions a planet-friendly mission and aims to redefine the market with its commitment to sustainable living.

Papel’s packaging, elegantly presented in Prisma Tetra Pak, is made up of 68% plant-based renewable material, marking a significant milestone in the quest for eco-friendly packaging alternatives. The brand’s design language crafted by Almond Branding reflects a commitment to sustainability, from the choice of a benevolent pastel blue shade to the bold black capturing the “here to make an impact” attitude, and even the forms of the logo identity—all echoing planet-friendliness at its core.

Almond Branding, as the packaging specialist agency, embraced a minimalistic approach targeting an upmarket audience, resonating with values of sustainability and quality. Water in a non-transparent pack format is an entirely new concept for Indian market. Almond Branding’s clever use of Packaging copy by creatively using the term “Whatever” as a surrogate for “WATER” won hearts. The phrase “Whatever it takes to bring a change” not only captures the positive change in outlook and habit that the brand promotes but also helps effectively communicate Papel’s commitment to go the extra mile to make the world a better place. To connect with environmentally conscious millennials, the hashtag #DrinkTheChange is incorporated directly on the packaging, serving as a rallying cry for those contributing to a healthier planet.

Papel’s innovative packaging not only provides a premium experience but also contributes to environmental sustainability. Compared to traditional packaging that needs 12 trucks to ship fully-formed bottles, 1.5 Million Papel packs can be loaded in just 1 truck, significantly reducing the carbon footprint and focusing on recyclability at a scale.
