Chennai: The American Brand ‘CHUPS’ aims to bring the concept of “Experiential Pop Ups” in India by partnering with restaurants specializing in specific cuisines and create authentic experiences around that specific cultural ethnicity.
‘CHUPS’ had a Pre-Pilot India launch on 24th February in Bengaluru with its first restaurant partner – Bangaliana, A popular Bengali Restaurant in Bengaluru. After the successful implementation of the idea of aggregating POP Ups and Hosting community based food events across California, Chups is now poised to expand territories and launch in India very soon.
The event was headed by N Balachandar, Group Director- Human Resources at Coffee Day Group and Prof Raghunath of IIM Bangalore, who specializes in Strategic Alliances and Strategic Leadership. Arockiya Jeevanandam and Saminathan Susaimanickam, the Cofounders of Chups were also present at the occasion along with Swapan Ghosh – The Founder of Bangaliana.
“With Food Delivery apps on the rise, people are confined to their desks and closed circle of friends. We aim to bring them out again and enjoy an experience along with authentic flavors” said Arockiya Jeevanandam, the Co-Founder of Chups.
Hailing from a small village in Tamil Nadu, India, Arockiya is a Serial Entrepreneur who has founded several successful ventures including Skoruz Technologies, which is a leader in Analytics Consulting and Solutions.
The event was attended by 100+ invited representatives from different leagues of business, art and media to experience the concept of a community based food POP-UP. The theme of the event was “Bengal in Bengaluru” – Experience Bengal in Bengaluru. The POP-UP showcased Cultural elements associated with Bengal along with many engaging activities like a Bengali Quiz, Sing Along, Light Music and Dance. Authentic Bengali Food from Bangaliana was the highlight of the POP-UP. Food was served on Traditional Plates with Bengali Hospitality.
Chups is an American Brand that has been aggregating and hosting different POP UP events across California for the past 2 years. They have been hosting community based events to reach out to the Indian, Mexican and Korean communities in partnership with various restaurants. They have over 30,000 registered users and have hosted more than 100 POP Ups in the recent months.
