Mumbai: Star Sports – India’s leading sports broadcaster is constantly striving to find innovative ways to brings sports closer to its wide gamut of viewers. In order to generate excitement around the Home Season of cricket, starting with the South Africa tour of India from September 15, 2019 onwards.
Breaking away from the norm, the introduction of animated storytelling with a bat and ball as humanized characters. The specially created cricketing universe in the form of animated characters interacts with a live-action environment. This will help break the clutter and drive recall for the upcoming contest.
Conceptualized by the in-house creative team at Star Sports, the campaign builds on using a visual identity that will cater to all fans of all ages. The TVCs creates a unique identity in the form of a ‘Cricket Universe’, where the Bat termed as ‘Balla-ram’ and Ball as ‘Ball Adams’ – symbolizing the fan voices from the two countries, are seen in a real-life environment.
The initiative is an endeavour to establish a unique visual identity that will help establish consistency, continuity and high recall for ‘Cricket on Star Sports’.
This is a first of its kind initiative for the category & brings forth the contest between bat & ball in a never seen before manner.
