Canon India enhances cinema expertise with Kiran Deohans and Sudhir Koushik as new Cinema EOS Ambassadors
Share Share ShareShare

Mumbai: Canon India has announced the appointment of two iconic visual storytellers—Kiran Deohans and Sudhir Koushik—as the latest Canon Cinema EOS Ambassadors. This strategic move further strengthens Canon’s vision of empowering creative professionals and expanding its footprint within the vibrant and evolving Indian film and broadcast industry.

Both Deohans and Koushik bring with them a rich legacy of innovation, technical finesse, and a deep understanding of visual storytelling across diverse formats. Their inclusion marks another milestone in Canon’s ongoing effort to build a dynamic and inclusive community of creators through the EOS Ambassador Program.

A celebrated name in Indian cinema, Kiran Deohans, ISC, is widely acknowledged for his work on classics such as Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Jodhaa Akbar, Agneepath, and Manikarnika. With more than 1,500 ad films and numerous accolades including the Filmfare, APSA, and IAAFA Awards, Deohans stands as one of the country’s most respected cinematographers.

Complementing this cinematic prowess is Sudhir Koushik, whose expertise spans high-impact television and OTT productions. From Kaun Banega Crorepati and The Great Indian Kapil Show to MTV Hustle, Coke Studio, and Khatron Ke Khiladi, Koushik has continuously redefined how Indian audiences experience unscripted and variety content.

Commenting on the appointments, Vishesh Magoo, Assistant Director, Imaging Communication Business Centre, Canon India, said, “At Canon, we see cinematography not just as a technical pursuit, but as a cultural force. The stories being told today whether through a feature film, a reality show, or a digital series are shaping how we view the world. Our aim is to support and empower storytellers who are redefining these narratives. Mr. Kiran Deohans and Mr. Sudhir Koushik bring immense experience and creative integrity to the table, and we are thrilled to have them as ambassadors of Canon’s larger vision for visual storytelling in India.”

Sharing his thoughts on the collaboration, Kiran Deohans said, “Cinema is not just about capturing visuals; it’s about shaping culture, evoking emotion, and preserving memory. Canon has always understood that storytelling is as much a craft as it is a responsibility. I’m excited to be part of a brand that empowers creators not just with cutting-edge tools, but with a deep commitment to shaping the future of Indian cinema.”

Adding his perspective, Sudhir Koushik remarked, “What sets Canon apart is not just its products, but its purpose. The brand truly believes in elevating the art of cinematography not just through innovation, but by creating a platform for collaboration and creativity. As someone who has seen this industry evolve from analog to digital, it’s heartening to partner with a brand that evolves with us, not just for us.”

The Canon EOS Ambassador Program brings together seasoned experts and emerging talents from the worlds of photography and videography. These ambassadors play a vital role in mentoring, sharing product insights, and fostering dialogue within creative communities. More than a collaboration, the program represents Canon’s long-term investment in storytelling excellence and industry innovation.
