Chennai: The Hockey India League (HIL) is back with a bang, and leading Tamil Nadu’s charge is the newly unveiled Tamil Nadu Dragons (TND), a franchise that symbolizes “Excellence, Passion, and Legacy.” The Charles Group, under the leadership of its visionary Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Jose Charles Martin, has taken the helm of the Tamil Nadu Dragons, marking a transformative chapter for hockey in Tamil Nadu.
The launch event, held in Chennai, was a grand celebration of the state’s rich sporting heritage and its future in hockey. Attended by sports dignitaries and enthusiasts, the evening highlighted the Tamil Nadu Dragons’ mission to inspire excellence in hockey and nurture local talent.
The program commenced with a behind-the-scenes showcase of the team’s journey, an AV presentation on the Hockey India League, the Charles Group’s vision, the franchise auction process, and the introduction of the Tamil Nadu Dragons team.
Prominent attendees included Sekar J Manoharan, Treasurer of Hockey India; Uday Sinh Wala, CEO of Tamil Nadu Dragons; Charles Dixon, Assistant Coach; and Olympian Amit Rohidass, alongside players and distinguished guests. The unveiling of the Tamil Nadu Dragons’ logo and jersey was the highlight of the evening, symbolizing the team’s spirit and commitment to achieving greatness.
Uday Sinh Wala, CEO of Tamil Nadu Dragons, extended heartfelt thanks to the Hockey India League, the Charles Group, and the Tamil Nadu community, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in building a strong hockey ecosystem.
The evening concluded with an interactive session between the press, media, and dignitaries, setting the stage for the Tamil Nadu Dragons’ much-anticipated participation in the Hockey India League.
