Mumbai : Balaji Telefilms is known for its last minute tape submissions due to the shoot happening till eleventh-hour and there were many occasions in the past when their top executives were made to fly to Singapore to submit their telecast tapes of “Kyunki…. & Kahani….”, where the Star India’s up linking earth station was located.
However, the Company seems to have lost its luck recently which made the Broadcaster ‘Colors’ to keeps its head down with a sorry face for their audience and repeat the previous day’s episode.
Balaji Telefilm’s show on Colors, Meri Ashiqui Tum Se Hi, a quite popular serial among the audience made a blunder and forced the channel to air same episode on two different days earlier last week. while the fresh episode was aired on 17th Dec, the same was repeat on 18th Dec @ 10 PM slot in prime time as the Production House failed to submit the new episode telecast tape of 18th Dec.
A source from the Production House of the serial informed that due to the carelessness of some members of the production unit, the chip where the regular episodes were recorded was misplaced. And instead of informing the directorial team right then, they informed it to the concerned authorities much later.
By the time the production team reported about the entire situation to higher authorities it was ‘too late to rectify’, Hence the repeat telecast shame for ‘Colors’
As we know how particular and quality conscious is Ekta Kapoor, the irresponsible behaviour of the team miffed her beyond limits. And as a result, angry Ekta visited the set of ”Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi”, which created a holy mess over there followed by blame game as no one really had the guts to face an angry Ekta.
As the reports suggests ,When nothing seemed to reach a conclusion Ekta fired a couple of members from the Production unit.
This is not for the first time that Ekta Kapoor was dragged into this situation. Earlier there was an incident of Mass walk out of 90 people from the Jodha Akbar sets. The reason behind this mass walk out was apparently the rude attitude of the director of the show. In fact, Ekta even commented at a press conference that she never threw anyone out and the crew members left the show because they did not want to work. She also said that she always supports what is right and she won’t throw 90 people out and put them out of jobs.
However, Market Sources states that skipping the telecast due to failure of submitting the telecast tape was nothing new to the production House as it has already witnessed similar circumstances in the past where the Production House was penalised by broadcasters like Star India due to their failure in submission of episode telecast tape within the stipulated dead line period.
”Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi” was started on 24th June and it is being aired on every Monday to Friday.
