Tim Irwin has been elevated to Global Chief Operating Officer, tasked with driving growth and operations by Essence Global, which is part of WPP’s Group M.
Irwin, who will continue to be based in London, was most recently CEO of the agency’s Europe Middle East & Africa region, overseeing the roster of agency clients including L’Oreal, Google, BT, Financial Times, and ITV, as well the staff across offices in the UK, France, and Germany. Prior to joining Essence in 2018, he was COO at sister agency Maxus which merged with MEC to form Wavemaker.
Ryan Storrar will replace Irwin as the EMEA CEO. He was previously COO of the region, joining Essence in 2016 as Head of Activation.
Prior to Essence, Storrar held senior digital media roles at companies including Marin Software, where he was Director, Customer Success.
