Mumbai: Salman Khan , who is hosting Bigg Boss for the fifth consecutive time may be replaced by choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan in January, reports suggest.
Buzz has it that the makers of ‘Bigg Boss’ season 8 will be extending the show. As Salman’s contract ends on 4th January and has a packed schedule since then, will not be able to continue as the host of the show beyond 4th Jan.
The channel ‘Colors’ is getting good TRPs from this season of the reality show and apparently, they want to derive the benefit for some more time. Subsequently, it seems the production team also had a meeting with the housemates of Bigg Boss and most of them have agreed for the extension.
The Bollywood superstar is scheduled to shoot for Kabir Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ and hence the need for a new host.
The producers of the controversial reality show reportedly approached Karan Johar and Anil Kapoor, but eventually zeroed in on Farah Khan.
There has been no official confirmation as yet, but it would be interesting to see if Farah Khan replaces Salman as the host of the show.
Salman Khan was recently seen losing his temper on the scandalous reality series when season 8 contestant Karishma Tanna refused to take his joke in sporting manner and this incident is also seen as a reason for Salman’s refusal to extend his dates beyond the contract period.
In last week’s episode, Salman started picking on Karishma Tanna by playfully linking Pritam Singh with her. This did not go down well with the actress and she started crying, which in turn infuriated Salman. So much so that he just walked out of the show mid-way, only to be calmed and cajoled to come back and finish the shoot. But when he came back, he made sure he lambasted Karishma Tanna for her reaction.
While Tanna said that she had started crying because it had already been a heavy day for her and that it was not directed towards him, Salman continued to berate her. When Tanna’s good friend Upen Patel tried to stand up for her, Salman asked him to ‘shut up’. This definitely did not go down well with the two, who later discussed that they were being picked on.
Salman Khan is known to be a temperamental person on screen as well as off screen. While he can be one of the most amiable person when he’s in a jovial mood, he can also be a bad guy when in a foul temper.
The Bigg Boss audience has witnessed both these shades of his nature and previous seasons have also seen Salman losing his cool with contestants. From Sapna Bhavnani to Gauahar Khan, Siddharth Bhardwaj to Imam Siddique, many contestants have faced the DabanggKhan’s wrath in person.
