Mumbai: Gamezop, the Indian casual gaming leader that powers gamification across over 9,000 apps in 70 countries, has officially expanded into the Middle East with a strategic investment of $4 million. The company has launched a wholly-owned subsidiary and established its regional headquarters in Bahrain, setting the stage to onboard 1,000 new apps across the MENA region and aiming for an additional $5–6 million in revenue over the next 18 months.
Founded in 2016 by Yashash Agarwal and Gaurav Agarwal, and backed by BITKRAFT Ventures, Gamezop’s plug-and-play model enables apps to integrate casual games without managing content, significantly boosting engagement and monetisation.
Gaurav Agarwal, Co-founder, Gamezop, commented, “We chose Bahrain for its strategic location, business-friendly environment, and access to the wider region. We anticipate Bahrain will continue to attract leading global companies to establish their regional hubs here, thanks to its forward-looking policies and the proactive support of the Bahrain Economic Development Board, which has been instrumental in supporting our expansion. Our presence here marks the beginning of what we hope will become a strong digital bridge between India and the Middle East.”
The expansion comes at a time when the MENA region is the fastest-growing gaming market globally, with a projected CAGR of 12–15%, driven by high smartphone penetration, a young tech-savvy population, and surging demand for interactive online experiences.
Agarwal added, “Gamezop aims to build the world’s largest distribution network for digital content – we started with games and expanded to verticals like quizzing, astrology, and cricket. As digital platforms continue looking for growth, Gamezop is increasingly becoming a key part of their monetisation stack. We are proud to be part of India’s journey in building technology that serves the global market.”
Recognising the company’s strategic contribution to the local digital landscape, the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) played a key role in facilitating Gamezop’s entry.
Musab Abdulla, Executive Director of ICT, Bahrain EDB, stated, “Bahrain’s gaming and content creation ecosystem is building strong momentum, powered by robust digital infrastructure, supportive government initiatives and a growing pool of ambitious, creative talent. The arrival of innovative companies like Gamezop further accelerates this growth, creating new opportunities for local developers and reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a hub for creative industries in the region.”
