New Delhi: In its ongoing mission to promote safer riding habits across India, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recently conducted a comprehensive road safety awareness campaign at K.R. Mangalam World School, New Delhi. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 2100 students and staff members, focusing on making road safety education both accessible and practical for young individuals.
As part of its broader CSR strategy, HMSI is committed to instilling a culture of road safety among India’s youth, aiming to spark a ripple effect that influences families and communities at large. The campaign’s interactive and immersive learning methods included danger prediction training, quizzes, games, helmet awareness activities, and more, helping participants better understand their role and responsibilities on the road.
Engaging with the youth helps create a ripple effect, influencing family members and communities to also adopt safer riding practices.
The support and coordination provided by K.R. Mangalam World School staff played a vital role in the campaign’s success, ensuring high levels of participation and engagement. The initiative is part of HMSI’s pan-India effort to reach young audiences through schools and colleges, reinforcing the message that road safety is a shared responsibility.
Honda’s Long-Term Vision on Road Safety
As part of its global commitment, Honda announced a vision for 2050 to achieve zero traffic collision fatalities involving its vehicles. HMSI’s current efforts align with both this goal and the Government of India’s target to reduce road fatalities by 50% by 2030.
One critical aspect of achieving this goal is developing a positive mindset towards road safety in our children by the year 2030 and continuing to educate them thereafter. Road safety education at schools and colleges is not only to create awareness but to introduce a safety culture in young minds and transform them to be the road safety ambassadors.
HMSI wants to be a company that Society wants to exist and is strongly focusing on spreading Road safety awareness to all sections of society with unique ideas catering to each segment from school kids to corporates and society at large.
