JioSaavn surpasses 500 Mn downloads on Play Store

Mumbai: JioSaavn today announced a major milestone in its growth journey, surpassing 500 million downloads on the Google Play Store. The achievement marks the platform’s strongest indicator yet of its widening listener base and growing relevance as one of India’s most preferred music streaming services.

With 500 million unique installs, JioSaavn becomes the only Indian music streaming app to reach this scale. The milestone follows JioHotstar’s recent crossing of 1 billion downloads, making it the most downloaded entertainment app in India, with JioSaavn now ranking as the second most downloaded entertainment app in the country. Together, the two platforms highlight the increasing dominance of Jio’s digital ecosystem across content and entertainment categories.

JioSaavn credited this accomplishment to a year marked by consistent product innovation, enhanced user experience, and a series of high-impact feature rollouts that significantly boosted engagement across regions. Over the past year, the platform introduced upgrades to improve personalised recommendations, strengthened multilingual search, and unveiled a redesigned home feed that has resonated strongly with new and existing users.

Listening closely to user needs, the platform launched features such as “Daily Mixes”, offering fresh auto-curated listening experiences each day, and “From the Community”, which highlights playlists created by listeners across India. These improvements have collectively deepened engagement, improved discovery, and delivered a more seamless, intuitive listening experience.

JioSaavn’s growth was further accelerated by its strategic marketing initiatives, including a series of new subscription offers aimed at making premium audio content more accessible. Recent JioSaavn Pro launches — such as high-quality listening plans priced at Rs 9 for 2 months and Rs 399 for 12 months — drew strong consumer response and played a key role in driving record engagement and download momentum through the final quarter.

With this milestone, JioSaavn enters its next phase of expansion with renewed momentum, reaffirming its commitment to elevating the listening experience through ongoing product innovation and strategic collaborations. The platform aims to build on its strong growth trajectory by further strengthening its offerings and expanding reach across audiences in India and beyond.
