Mazhavil Manorama, one of the leading GECs in Kerala, premiered its first award show “Mazhavil Entertainment Awards” to honour the creative brilliance within the realm of entertainment in Kerala. The 6-hourlong award gala was held at the Adlux International Convention Centre on the 5th of May 2019 and featured various performances from eminent stars both from within and outside the Malayalam film industry.
Singer K. J. Yesudas was awarded the title “All-time Entertainer”, while actor Mohanlal and veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan were honoured as the “Ultimate Entertainers”. “NjanPrakashan” was selected as the “Most Entertaining movie of the Year”, 2019. Prithviraj won the award for the Best Director with his directorial debut for “Lucifer”. The “Best Actor” award was shared between Tovino Thomas and FahadFazil, while Aishwarya Lakshmi was conferred the title “Best Actress”. Other awards presented include the Best Song (Jeevamshamaayi – Theevandi), Best Character Role (Siddique), Best Villain (Sunny Wayne), Best Comic Role (HareeshKanaran), Best Pair (Asif Ali &Aishwarya Lakshmi), All-round Entertainer (Ramesh Pisharody), Best Debutant (Anna Ben), Best Choreography (ShereefMoideen), Best Stunt Direction (Silva), Social Media Influencer (ArchanaKavi) and Original Digital Content (Karikku).
The event was rich with the presence of celebrities such as Innocent, Sheela, Bhadran, Sonakshi Sinha, Priyamani, Mamta, Parvati Thiruvoth, Benny P Nayarambalam, Prem Prakash, Sphadikam George, Nadirsha, Stephen Devassy, Mejo, Jis Joy, Kailash and Vijay Babu, many of whom also handed over the awards. Bollywood divas and Kerala’s sizzling beauties such as Bipasha Basu, Sonakshi Sinha, Malaika Arora, Shamna Kasim, Nikki Galrani and Saniya Iyappan added flair to the event with their performances. Kunchakko Boban and Ramesh Pisharody jointly hosted the event.
The event will be telecasted as two parts on May 18th and 19th from 7 PM onwards on Mazhavil Manorama, Mazhavil Manorama HD and Mazhavil Manorama International.
