Mumbai: Absolute Sports, a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies and the parent company of leading sports media platform Sportskeeda.com, announced today that it has entered into definitive agreements to acquire two key wrestling media properties, TJRWrestling.net and ITRWrestling.com. The acquisition, subject to customary closing conditions, marks another major step in Absolute Sports’ expansion into the global combat sports media space.
The digital assets are being acquired from Titan Insider Digital through an all-cash transaction valued at \$1.25 million (\~INR 10.5 crore). The deal will be executed via Absolute Sports’ U.S.-based arm, Sportskeeda Inc., and is expected to close within the next 45 days.
TJRWrestling and ITRWrestling, launched in 2009 and 2020 respectively, have cultivated a loyal readership through comprehensive and high-quality coverage of professional wrestling. Collectively, the two sites draw 1.7 million monthly active users and generate 4.6 million pageviews, with the majority of their audience based in North America. In 2024, the platforms generated \$722K (\~INR 6.1 crore) in revenue.
This acquisition strengthens Absolute Sports’ dominance in the combat sports vertical and significantly enhances its footprint in the United States, the world’s largest pro-wrestling market. It also opens new avenues for user engagement and monetization through expanded content offerings and advertiser partnerships.
