Mumbai: Porus, the drama series created by Writer, Director and Producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary of Swastik Productions, has been licensed for airing in Macedonia. One Life Studios, which has the distribution rights, has signed the pact for airing the show that was originally aired on Sony TV in 2017.
Porus is based on the battle fought between Alexander the Great and King Porus. It follows the story of Alexander and his journey toward India, which culminates in the Battle of Hydaspes in 326 B.C.
Porus was the first Indian show to be syndicated to Hulu Japan.
One Life Studios’ Managing Director, Rahul Kumar Tewary, commented, “In Indian shows, there’s hardly ever a portrayal of a foreign land. For the first time, we showed the journey of Alexander the Great, and viewers all across have loved it. With Porus, we have tried to break boundaries and we are glad that this series now enters the land of Alexander. Undoubtedly one of the greatest and known warriors of his time, I am sure the people of Macedonia will enjoy the story of his last battle with Indian King Porus.”
Porus is the first Global TV series of India. One Life Studios had distributed the show to over 11 countries and 14 territories.
