Qayamat Ki Raat on Star Plus opens with 2.3 TVR; Kaun Hai on Colors garners 1.6 TVR

Mumbai: Hindi GEC market has witnessed slew of new show launches during the aftermath of the IPL Season and BARC data for week 26 for the period between 23rd June and 29th June 2018 revelas the opening week performance of Hindi show.

During Week 26, Colors has launched couple of fictions shows including thriller series Dev 2 and horror series Kaun Hai. Laal Ishq, a series of passionate love stories was launched on &TV and partnering with Balaji Telefilms, Star Plus  launched the horror series Qayamat Ki Raat.

Taking a closer look at the performances of the new launches in week 26 we observe the following trends:

Qayamat Ki Raat on Star Plus 

Of the launches in week 26, Star Plus’ horror Qayamat Ki Raat has performed exceptionally well with opening number of 2.3 TVR on the launch day, recording a reach if 5.5 points and 25.7 mins of TS.

Produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, Qayamat Ki Raat was launched on 23rd June, scheduled for telecast in the channels’ 7:00 PM Weekend prime time band. Karishma Tanna and Vivek Dahiya are seen will be playing the pivotal roles in the series, while veteran actor Apara Mehta has made a comeback on the channel.

Qayamat Ki Raat’s opening week TVR recorded 2.2 TVR with an opening reach and TS of 5.2 points and 26.6 mins respectively.

Balaji Telefilms has been producing a series of horror shows in the recent times that has been welcoming among the viewers. Naagin 3 – the third part of the successful Naagin telecasted on Colors TV has attracted extraordinary viewership its opening week.

Kaun Hai on Colors

Another new horror series Kaun Hai was launched on 29th June on Colors and is aired in the channels’ 10:30 PM time band from Friday to Sunday. Produced by Contiloe Pictures, the show brings alive accounts of paranormal activities, science fiction, fantasy and some cases inspired by real life incidents too. Popular television actors like Shallen Bhanot, Pankhuri Awasthi, Neeta Shetty portray the face of fear or the victims of the dead.

Kaun Hai has given promising delivereis with an average TVR of 1.6 TVR on its launch episode that lasted for 45 minutes. The reach of the launch episode happens to be 3.2 points and TS has recorded 22.0 points.

Dev 2 on Colors

Launched on 25th June 2018 Dev 2 is a crime thriller which follows the journey of Dev, an investigator with a past who is challenged with piecing together the biggest mystery: his own life. Dev 2 is produced by Peninsula Productions and IMRC entertainment Pvt Ltd Aashish Chowdhry plays the titular role. The series is being aired from Monday to Thursday at 10:30 PM

The average TVR of the launch episode recorded 0.7 TVR and the reach was1.8 points with 11.9 mins of TS. The opening week of Dev 2 garnered 0.6 TVR with opening week reach of 2.0 points and 10.2 of TS in the opening week.

Laal Ishq on &TV

&TV’s latest offering Laal Ishq, a series of passionate love stories launched on 23rd June, scheduled in the channels’ 10:00 PM weekend time band features prominent faces from the television industry like Sayantani Ghosh, Priyank Sharma, Mahhi Vij, Zain Imam, Veebha Anand, Preetika Rao, Karam Rajpal, Niti Taylor amongst others.

Laal Ishq launch day episode garneredan average of 0.4 TVR, while the opening day reach happens to be 1.7 points with 12.6 mins of TS. The opening week of the series attracted 0.3 TVR with a reach and TS of 1.5 points  and 12.9 mins respectively

The HSM is continuously witnessing promising launches in the recent past that is competitive, while these are the performances of  this week’s launches in their opening week, we will have to wait to see how new launches keep up in the weeks to come.
