Mumbai: Rohan Mitra has stepped down from Adobe India after spending over a decade leading the company’s government relations function, marking the end of a long tenure that saw him play a key role in Adobe’s engagement with policymakers and public-sector stakeholders in the country.
Mitra announced his departure through a LinkedIn post, describing the move as the close of an important chapter in his professional journey. While he has not disclosed details of his next career move, he indicated that he is looking forward to new opportunities ahead.
During his time at Adobe, Mitra was responsible for managing the company’s interactions with both Central and State Governments. His mandate included leading policy advocacy efforts, supporting public-sector business development initiatives, and navigating regulatory developments relevant to Adobe’s operations in India.
His responsibilities also extended to emerging policy areas such as artificial intelligence, content authenticity and credentials, data privacy, and cybersecurity—topics that have become increasingly significant for global technology companies operating in India.
Reflecting on his tenure, Mitra expressed gratitude for the relationships and experiences gained during his years with the company. In his LinkedIn message, he noted that the role had provided opportunities to collaborate with talented colleagues and build lasting professional partnerships and friendships.
The departure comes at a time when technology companies are increasingly engaging with governments on issues surrounding digital regulation, AI governance, data protection, and cybersecurity frameworks, making government affairs functions strategically important within the sector.
Mitra is regarded as an experienced public policy and government affairs professional, with expertise spanning government relations, public policy, corporate communications, international relations, and corporate social responsibility.
Having spent more than a decade representing Adobe’s interests before policymakers and regulatory stakeholders, his exit marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in the company’s public affairs engagement in India.
