Mumbai: Rohit Talwar, Vice President and Head of Marketing at Castrol India, has announced his decision to step down from the role, effective August 8, 2025. The development brings to a close a two-decade-long association with the brand, marked by strategic leadership and marketing innovation.
Talwar had taken over the reins on November 1, 2023, following the temporary departure of Jaya Jamrani, who had gone on a one-year sabbatical. In his tenure as VP and Head of Marketing, Talwar played a pivotal role in strengthening Castrol’s customer value proposition and driving brand-led growth initiatives in a highly competitive lubricants market.
Beginning his journey with Castrol India in 2004 as a Management Trainee, Talwar steadily rose through the ranks. His roles over the years included Sales Manager, Bikes Brand Manager, and Cricket Sponsorship Activation Manager. A notable highlight of his international career was his stint as Global Brand Manager for the Commercial Vehicles Category, where he led the successful global rollout of Castrol VECTON.
After returning to India in 2017, Talwar took on critical leadership positions such as Head of Brand and Communication, and subsequently Deputy Vice President of Marketing. In 2019, he expanded his portfolio by leading Castrol’s marketing initiatives in Vietnam, where he oversaw integrated B2C and B2B strategies, significantly boosting market presence and business results.
Castrol India has yet to announce a successor for the role.
