Mumbai: Securonix, Inc., a six-time Leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for SIEM, has announced the appointment of Toby Weiss as its Chief Executive Officer, as the company looks to accelerate the evolution of security operations from alert-driven processes to AI-powered execution.
Weiss takes over leadership at a time when security operations centres (SOCs) are under increasing pressure from rising threat volumes, increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks, stricter regulatory requirements and ongoing cybersecurity talent shortages.
Organisations across sectors including healthcare, financial services, energy, government and managed security service providers (MSSPs) are increasingly prioritising solutions that improve visibility, operational efficiency and measurable security outcomes while controlling costs.
Securonix aims to address these challenges through its Unified Defense SIEM platform, which combines advanced analytics, intelligent data management through Data Pipeline Manager (DPM) and agentic AI capabilities designed to improve investigation and response workflows.
As CEO, Weiss will lead the company’s next phase of growth, focusing on expanding innovation across the platform and strengthening customer outcomes.
Under his leadership, Securonix plans to further develop capabilities including Sam, the AI SOC Analyst, and Agentic Mesh, designed to help security teams automate workflows, increase productivity and operate at greater scale.

Commenting on the appointment, Nadeem Syed, Executive Chairman of the Securonix Board and Senior Managing Director at Vista Equity Partners, said, “Toby brings a powerful combination of cybersecurity expertise, enterprise software leadership, and operational excellence. Security operations are at an inflection point as organizations move from alert-driven tools toward AI-powered execution. Toby has spent his career scaling businesses through pivotal technology transitions, and we are confident in his ability to lead Securonix forward.”
Weiss brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across enterprise software and cybersecurity businesses.
Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Fiery, where he led strategic growth initiatives and oversaw the company’s acquisition by Seiko Epson Corporation. Earlier in his career, he served as President and CEO of Application Security, Inc., a database security company, and also held senior leadership roles at CA Technologies, managing global security software businesses.
Sharing his perspective on joining the company, Toby Weiss said, “Security operations are entering a new era where success will be measured not by how many alerts analysts review, but by how much security work organizations can execute. Our customers want three things: better security outcomes, greater operational efficiency, and the ability to scale without proportionally increasing costs. Securonix is uniquely positioned to deliver on those priorities. Our advanced analytics help organizations identify the threats that matter most. Our Data Pipeline Manager gives customers greater control over security data economics and visibility. Our Agentic AI innovations help automate and accelerate investigation and response workflows while maintaining governance and human oversight. Together, these capabilities enable organizations to operate more effectively today while preparing for the future of AI-powered security operations.”

Highlighting customer expectations and operational impact, Marion Smith, Chief Financial Officer at Securonix, added, “Customers are looking for measurable security outcomes despite growing operational complexity. They want to improve analyst productivity, accelerate investigations, strengthen security posture, and maximize the value of their security investments. Toby understands how to connect innovation with customer success and business results. His leadership will help accelerate growth, deepen customer partnerships, and continue delivering the operational outcomes security teams need.”
Securonix stated that its Data Pipeline Manager can help reduce SIEM data costs by 30–50%, while its Agentic AI capabilities are designed to accelerate investigations by 50–80%, enabling organisations to improve return on cybersecurity investments and achieve faster operational value.
