New Delhi: Saptharushi Pte. Ltd. has announced the launch of the Open Network Audience Marketplace (ONAM), a federated audience marketplace developed for members of the Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA), aimed at enabling digital news publishers to strengthen audience monetisation while retaining ownership of their data.
Positioned as a privacy-first and publisher-centric solution, ONAM seeks to address growing concerns around platform monopolies and data control by offering a federated infrastructure model that allows publishers to collaborate while maintaining sovereignty over their audience data.
According to the company, the marketplace is designed to help publishers reclaim the economics of trust-based journalism by enabling fair pricing of audiences and ensuring that revenue generated through audience monetisation flows directly back to the participating publishers.
The platform has been built around four key principles — cooperative scale, publisher sovereignty, privacy-first infrastructure, and collective intelligence. Through shared enterprise-grade infrastructure, ONAM aims to provide participating publishers with access to scale and reach that may otherwise be difficult to achieve individually.
Saptharushi said the platform has been architected with compliance to India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) embedded into its core framework, ensuring that publisher data remains within their own environments while leveraging federated audience signals to enable targeted advertising and audience solutions.
The company added that the first set of live campaigns on ONAM are expected to go live within the next 100 days, as onboarding of participating publishers and data partners begins.
Detailed briefings on the platform’s architecture, deployment roadmap, and onboarding process are expected to be made available to trade media and industry stakeholders upon request.
