Bengaluru: Saraswathi Anand has joined Network18 as Head of Marketing for the Languages Cluster and she will be handling the marketing function for all the News18 regional channels minus Hindi that includes TN, Kerala, Kannada, Odisha, Bengal, Assam/NE, Gujarat and News18-Lokmat.
Saraswathi will be operating from Bangalore and she will be reporting to Karan Abhishek Singh, the CEO for Languages Cluster – Network 18, who took over the responsibility after the recent recast in Network18 announced in March 2019 that splits the group channles into three major clusters.
Prior to this Saraswathi Anand was associated with Zee Kannada as Marketing Head. She successfully lead the Brand Refresh of the Zee Kannada channel and was part of the team that ensured Zee Kannada spread its dominance from only the non-fiction space to domination as an overall channel with focus on Fiction content.
Saraswathi Anand, a true blue Bangalorean who graduated from Tapmi, Manipal in Marketing & Advertising has spent 16 years in the marketing space. Having started her career in Advertising in Enterprise Nexus, handling fashion brands like Weekender, Scullers and in Mudra handling Peter England, she moved onto Worlspacewhere-in she was part of the team that broke the AR Rehman campaign.
Having found her groove in media, she has worked in Radio Mirchi – Bengaluru as Head of Marketing for 5 years, bringing forth many campaigns, exclusive time bands and positioning of shows.
Later, she moved onto Vijaya Karnataka, where she handled the re-designing of the newspaper and worked with the editorial in bringing in editorial focus in a competitive Kannada market.
