New Delhi: Smarten Power Systems, an Indian power backup and solar energy solutions company serving residential and commercial customers, has announced the appointment of Ranjit Singh as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective 1 August 2026. The appointment was approved by the company’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on 14 July 2026.
Singh has been associated with Smarten as Consultant – Vice President, Operations, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening operational processes, enhancing manufacturing efficiencies and supporting several strategic initiatives. As Chief Operating Officer, he will oversee the company’s end-to-end operations, manufacturing, supply chain, quality systems and strategic execution, while driving operational excellence to support Smarten’s growth plans across domestic and international markets.
One of Singh’s key contributions during his tenure as Consultant – Vice President, Operations, was leading the successful transition of Smarten’s in-house battery manufacturing facility at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, a strategic initiative undertaken following the company’s IPO. He managed the complete handover of manufacturing operations, establishing robust systems, processes and teams to ensure stable in-house production. With the transition successfully completed, he will now lead operations across Smarten’s existing manufacturing facilities and spearhead the operationalization of the company’s upcoming manufacturing plant.
The leadership appointment comes at a significant stage in Smarten’s growth as the company continues to expand its manufacturing footprint and diversify its product portfolio. Amid rising demand for reliable power backup and renewable energy solutions, Smarten is focused on strengthening its operational capabilities to enable sustainable growth, faster execution and enhanced customer value.

A distinguished engineering professional, Singh brings more than 52 years of experience across manufacturing, engineering, product development and operations in the power electronics, telecom power and renewable energy sectors. Prior to joining Smarten, he held leadership positions at Vrinda Nano Technologies, Agmetal India, Delta Power Solutions India, Ascom (India), Benning SMC Power Systems, Bhurji Electronics, JCT Electronics, UPTRON Powertronics, USHA Rectifier Corporation India and Eastern Electronics.
