New Delhi: Sony India has announced collaborations with celebrated music composer and artist G. V. Prakash Kumar and acclaimed hip-hop artist EPR Iyer as part of its expanding artist collaboration initiative designed to deepen engagement with music audiences and creator communities across India.

The initiative aligns with Sony India’s broader vision of celebrating the country’s rich and diverse music culture by bringing together artists, creators, and immersive audio experiences across genres, communities, and regional audiences.

Through these partnerships, Sony India will spotlight its premium audio portfolio, including the ULT Power Sound series, recognised for delivering powerful bass and shared music experiences, alongside its flagship 1000X series that continues to strengthen the brand’s position in the premium personal audio segment.

Commenting on the announcement, Sunil Nayyar, Managing Director, Sony India said, “India’s music landscape is shaped by a diverse range of artists, cultures and creative communities. At Sony India, we are committed to supporting and celebrating this diversity by collaborating with artists who inspire audiences and contribute to the country’s vibrant music culture. Through these partnerships, we aim to create more immersive and meaningful music experiences for listeners.”

Bringing together technology and creativity, the collaborations are aimed at fostering stronger cultural connections and creating experiences that resonate with evolving consumer preferences.

A prominent creative force in South India’s music and film industry, G. V. Prakash Kumar brings strong cultural influence and audience appeal through his work across cinema and music.

Commenting on the partnership, G. V. Prakash Kumar said, “Music and cinema have always played an important role in shaping culture and bringing communities together. What excites me about this collaboration is Sony India’s vision to celebrate diverse musical identities while creating more immersive experiences for audiences.”

Joining the initiative is EPR Iyer, a recognised voice in India’s independent hip-hop movement and a representative of a new generation of culturally rooted and digitally connected music communities.

Speaking about the association, EPR Iyer said, “Hip-hop has always been rooted in authenticity and self-expression. Collaborating with Sony creates a platform where artists and communities can push creative boundaries while connecting through powerful sound experiences.”

Sony India said the partnerships reflect its continued focus on engaging with India’s evolving music ecosystem and building stronger relationships with younger audiences, creators, and fan communities.

By integrating artists, fans, and immersive sound experiences through its ULT Power Sound portfolio, the company aims to contribute to shaping the future of music culture and community engagement across the country.
