Spikes Asia 2018 Opens for Entries with the launch of new Glass Award

Spikes Asia announces 2018 Jury including 49% female leaders from across Asia Pacific

Spikes Asia is where Asia Pacific’s creative community comes together for three days of inspiration, networking and celebration of creativity and effectiveness in branded communications. Opening for entries today, this year sees the addition of a new award category, Glass: The Award for Change which celebrates culture-shifting creativity.

Throughout the Festival esteemed juries review creative branded communications entries from across Asia Pacific. An evolution of the Asian Advertising Awards, launched in 1986, the Spikes Asia Awards are the region’s premier creative award, celebrating and setting the standard for inspirational work in the creative communications industry.

Introduced first at Cannes Lions in 2015, Glass: The Award for Change specifically recognises work that challenges gender inequality, imbalance or injustice and shatters stereotypical images of men and women which remain rooted in marketing messages.

Joe Pullos, Festival Director, Spikes Asia commented, “The creative community here in Asia Pacific are evolving and engaging with new technology and design at a dizzying speed. This leads to incredibly exciting work, which Spikes Asia showcases and our juries continue to set the challenge higher each year. I’m delighted to bring the Glass Award to Spikes Asia. We believe that creativity shapes culture and in launching this Award we hope it will recognise brilliance and lead to real change across the industry and society.”

The three-day Festival runs from 26 – 28 September 2018 and encompasses forward thinking seminars by the industry’s most influential figures focused around the themes of creativity, effectiveness, innovation and entertainment. Networking events and training programmes, along with screenings and an exhibition of the shortlisted work provide additional opportunities for attendees of the Festival to be inspired by the creativity of the work produced and the people creating the work.

Spikes Asia Awards, honour the best creative work in the categories of Brand Experience & Activation, Creative Effectiveness, Design, Digital, Digital Craft, Direct, Entertainment, Film, Film Craft, Glass: The Award for Change, Healthcare, Innovation, Integrated, Media, Mobile, Music, Outdoor, PR, Print & Outdoor Craft, Print & Publishing and Radio & Audio and will be celebrated at an Awards Ceremony on 28 September bringing the 2018 Spikes Asia Festival to a close.
