Mumbai: Standard Chartered has appointed Kavita Kulkarni as Chief Technology & Operations Officer (CTOO) for India and South Asia. In her new role, Kulkarni will be responsible for driving the execution of the bank’s Technology & Operations strategy while supporting key strategic priorities across India and South Asia.
Kulkarni will be a member of the India Country Management Team and will be based in Mumbai. She brings over 25 years of leadership experience across banking, wealth management and technology, having held senior roles with multinational financial institutions in India, the UK and the US.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Kulkarni served as Managing Director and Chief Information Officer for Private Banking and Wealth Management at Barclays Bank. In this role, she led global technology and operations teams and focused on advancing the adoption of artificial intelligence across delivery cycles.
Kulkarni holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Science) degree from Karnataka University, India, and an MBA in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business, USA.
