Suriya emerges as top celebrity amongst cine stars from the South of India: Report

Suriya emerges as top celebrity amongst cine stars from the South of India: Report

According to a research study conducted by Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB), Suriya has been named the top celebrity in South India. The study, which surveyed 5,246 respondents across four southern states, also found that Allu Arjun was the most popular celebrity in Tollywood, Vijay came in second in Kollywood, Dulquer Salmaan and Fahadh Faasil were the top choices in Mollywood and Sandalwood respectively. The report, titled the TIARA South Research Report 2023, looked at 18 celebrities from various film industries in the south of India and was conducted between November and December of 2022.

On the ‘Trustworthy’ metric, Suriya had the highest score of 84 on the TIARA scale, surpassing the competition. Allu Arjun and Vijay Devarakonda were the top performers in Tollywood, while Vijay and Sivakarthikeyan led in Kollywood, and Fahadh Faasil and Kiccha Sudeep had high scores in Mollywood and Sandalwood respectively.

Suriya was also the leader on the ‘Most Identified With’ metric, with a score of 84, significantly higher than Tollywood leader Prabhas (79) and Ram Charan (74), and ahead of Kollywood’s Vijay (79) and Vijay Sethupathi (77). Yash (76) and Prithviraj (72) were the leaders in Mollywood and Sandalwood.

In terms of South India’s ‘Most Attractive’, Suriya had a score of 85, higher than Allu Arjun (80) and Vijay Devarakonda (72).

Suriya was again the leader in terms of South India’s most respected with a score of 86. In Tollywood, Mahesh Babu scored 78 and Junior NTR scored 75. Ajith and Sivakarthikeyan were the other top performers in Kollywood with scores of 78 and 76 respectively. Yash was the leader in Mollywood and Sandalwood with a score of 77, and Kiccha Sudeep was in second place with a score of 69. Suriya also dominated as South India’s Most Appealing with a score of 81, while Prabhas, Vijay and Dulquer were the leaders in Tollywood, Kollywood and the last two states respectively.
