A creator can mean many things to many people. For someone like me who has not been in sync with Hindi cinema through the years, only a few standout films remain fresh in memory. Fewer still are in the comfort-watch zone. Parineeta remains one of them. One learns from ad landers that the prolific ad filmmaker was indeed a gem. RIP Sir. Or dada, as the industry refers to him.
In this age of cut-paste directors who operate with a DVD (or equivalent ref materials) of others' work,Pradeep Sarkar was a beacon of originality. He saw the entire film in his mind first, then executed it to perfection – true for ads, music vids & films. Rest in Peace humble soul pic.twitter.com/8GHhjxsnFG

Back then, for us Delhi types, he was the only ad filmmaker in town. You couldn’t call yourself a Delhi ad creative if you hadn’t worked on Dabur. Or with Dada.
I am forever indebted for all that I learnt while watching him work. Rest in peace, Dada. #PradeepSarkar pic.twitter.com/XbVznJA6to

Patna railway junction was in the news and so was porn star Kendra Lust, for featuring on the digital OOH screen on one of the platforms for under three minutes, according to multiple media reports. Social media posts meanwhile, showed us what was played out on that screen – an explicit scene from one of her porn flicks. The agency has been booked and the contract terminated, we learn. But not before reminding us that we live in fragile times. The star played along and made the most of her newfound social media following. One wishes it was an Erika Lust directorial that had made the headlines, but then it’s a matter of perspective.

A chase. An escape. Media running to every place he had been to. People saying that they do not care. People politicising it. People pleading with the world to not politicise it. It’s all happening in Punjab. And it’s not good at all.
Breaking: News coming in that #AmritpalSingh got his #Khalistan Passport in time and has fled on a Khalistan Airlines flight which is being escorted out of the Indian air space by Khalistani Air Force.

Malkit Singh, Cycle repairer , “What do I care about Amritpal Singh or Khalistan, I care that my son doesn’t have a job, that’s all we care about. If they don’t get work , that’s how they end up on drugs and make other mistakes”. #OnTheRoad for @themojostory in #Punjab pic.twitter.com/g9WcUgmh3X

When will the powers that be realise that if they can stop the common citizen from being harassed, they would have won him or her over? This is an issue that banks perhaps cannot address but a government can with a few stringent measures. And, if a bank can indeed take a stand on this issue, it would have scored spectacularly too.
Dear @RBI – Bajaj Finance has been sending goons to my home to recover money lent to a man called Ranjit Kumar Jha. I do not know this man. I tried reasoning with the recovery agent but he insisted I find the defaulter or pay up. People kept landing up at my doorstep.

Just like every Friday, Balouch freedom fighters joined the anti-regime protests on the streets of #Zahedan today. According to @netblocks, there was a significant disruption to internet connectivity in Zahedan following these protests.#MahsaAmini
