On Thursday, Susan Wojcicki announced that she would be leaving her position as CEO at YouTube, but assured that she will still be involved with the YouTube teams, providing coaching to its members and having meetings with creators.
Wojcicki will be succeeded by Neal Mohan, who has served as YouTube’s Chief Product Officer since 2015.
Additionally, Wojcicki has agreed with Sundar Pichai to serve as an advisor for both Google and its parent company Alphabet in the near future.
On Mohan’s new role, Wojcicki wrote in her blog post, “I’ve spent nearly 15 years of my career working with Neal Mohan, first when he came over to Google with the DoubleClick acquisition in 2007 and as his role grew to become SVP of Display and Video Ads. He has a wonderful sense for our product, our business, our creator and user communities, and our employees. Mohan will be a terrific leader for YouTube.”
