Bengaluru: Zee Kannada is set to delight viewers with a dynamic mix of reality and fiction through the launch of two major shows this June. Reinforcing its stronghold in emotionally resonant storytelling and aspirational content, the channel will premiere Mahanati Season 2 on June 14th at 7:30 PM, followed by the launch of its much-awaited drama series Karna on June 16th at 8 PM.
Mahanati Season 2: Where Dreams Take Center Stage
“Mahanati returns to discover and nurture Karnataka’s next leading lady,” announced the channel, marking the comeback of its popular talent-hunt reality show. Building on the massive success of its debut season, Mahanati Season 2 offers a transformative journey for 12 aspiring women aged 18–25. Over an 18-week period, the participants will undergo rigorous training, real-time performance challenges, and immersive mentorship — all within a specially curated villa experience.
The judging panel includes Kannada film industry icons — actress Nishvika Naidu, veteran star Prema, and director Tharun Sudhir. Adding further value, Ramesh Aravind will deliver exclusive masterclasses, while Anushree returns as the host, bringing charm and energy to the stage. The show aims to offer not just a title but a complete grooming journey toward stardom.
Karna: Bound by Promises. Driven by Love. Shaped by Fate.
Adding to the dramatic flair, Zee Kannada is also set to premiere Karna, a poignant and powerful fiction series beginning June 16th at 8 PM, airing Monday to Friday. “Karna is a deeply moving tale of unspoken love, family complexities, and one man’s extraordinary courage to stand by his convictions,” says the channel.
The narrative centers around Dr. Karna, a compassionate gynaecologist who, despite being raised by a noble family, struggles with never being fully accepted. The story intensifies as he navigates a life-changing moral dilemma involving two unbreakable promises.
Starring Kiran Raj in a career-defining comeback role, the show also features Bhavya Gowda and Namratha Gowda, with veteran talents Nagabharana, Ashok, and Mahalakshmi Vasishta lending powerful performances to the ensemble cast.
Mahanati Season 2 and Karna will be airing on Zee Kannada on June 14th at 7:30 PM and the latter on 16th June at 8 PM.
