ZEE looks to mirror Sa Re Ga Ma Pa triumph with DP World ILT20, highlighting talent nurturing DNA

Mumbai: The third season of the DP World ILT20 has commenced with a bang, captivating cricket fans worldwide. With cricketing giants like Kieron Pollard, Tim Southee, Sunil Narine, Sam Curran, Andre Russell, and Nicholas Pooran showcasing their talent, the tournament has set a thrilling pace. Broadcasting across ZEE’s 15 linear TV channels, OTT platform ZEE5, and syndicated networks, the league continues to expand its global reach.

In a conversation with Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Sehgal, Chief Growth Officer – Digital & Broadcast Revenue at Zee Entertainment Enterprises, shared the company’s ambitious vision for the league. “Season 2 was a landmark achievement, reaching 220 million viewers. For Season 3, our aim is to make it even bigger and better. The excitement and energy are evident from the very first match,” Sehgal said.

Highlighting ZEE’s legacy of fostering talent, Sehgal added, “At ZEE, nurturing and fostering new talents is in our DNA, as demonstrated by properties like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and other successful ones. Season 3 is already showing massive potential, and we’re aiming to nurture this 3-year-old property into a HUGE success. In just three years since its inception, the tournament has seen tremendous growth, and we are confident it will continue to reach new milestones in the future.”

ZEE’s focus on creating engaging content and nurturing talent aligns seamlessly with the DP World ILT20. Veteran cricketers like Harbhajan Singh and Shoaib Akhtar continue to lend their expertise, with Harbhajan contributing to commentary and Akhtar serving as a league ambassador.

The tournament’s 34 matches are being hosted across three iconic UAE venues—Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah—bringing cricket fans an electrifying spectacle. The six franchise teams—Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Desert Vipers, Dubai Capitals, Gulf Giants, MI Emirates, and Sharjah Warriorz—feature a mix of seasoned international players and emerging talent, solidifying the league’s reputation as a global platform for cricketing excellence.

Fans can tune into the action-packed tournament on ZEE’s expansive network of 15 linear TV channels, including &Pictures SD/HD, Zee Cinema HD, Zee Biskope, Zee Thirai, Zee Kannada HD, and others. This ensures unparalleled accessibility, making the DP World ILT20 one of the most widely viewed cricket tournaments.

The DP World ILT20’s third season, running from January 11 to February 9, 2025, is set to redefine cricket entertainment while reinforcing ZEE’s commitment to nurturing talent and delivering engaging content. With its innovative approach and focus on talent development, ZEE aims to replicate the monumental success of its iconic properties like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, solidifying its position as a pioneer in entertainment and sports broadcasting.
