Once again, Zee Tamil has shown how media can make a tangible difference in people’s lives. With its iconic singing reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs, the heartfelt story of contestant Dharshini has not only touched viewers but also brought about a remarkable change in her community.
Dharshini, a contestant from Villupuram district’s Ammanapakkam village, shared an emotional story about the lack of transportation in her area. Despite being home to over 70 families, the village has long struggled without proper bus facilities. Children were forced to walk 10 kilometres daily to attend school, a reality that moved everyone on the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs stage.
Taking up the issue, Zee Tamil’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa team reached out to the Tamil Nadu government, drawing attention to the plight of the villagers. The request was met with a positive response from Transport Minister S.S. Sivasankar, who arranged for a bus service to the village.
Today, the long-awaited bus facility was officially launched, with the transport minister flagged off the initiative in Dharshini’s hometown, Ammanapakkam. This initiative has brought immense relief to the residents, fulfilling a dream they have cherished for years.
The villagers of Ammanapakkam have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Zee Tamil and the Tamil Nadu government for addressing this critical issue. Zee Tamil’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa team has been playing a key role in bringing positive change to the community, showcasing how entertainment can also be a medium for empowerment.
